WHEN TO ENGAGE A COLLEGE ADMISSIONS ADVISOR
The earlier I start with my clients and their families, the easier the process becomes and the happier the high school track for them to follow. After fifteen years of advice, I am not just a believer in securing a top choice, but also in engaging a positive and memorable path to get there. Every student, whether Ivy League bound or not, absolutely does not have to take every AP, IB or college-level class offered. Families need to think smart and be confident enough to guide their children away from their weaknesses, focusing in on their strengths, while creating a menu of choices that start to show who the student is through exploration, all by design. Most preferable would be to meet with a consultant prior to the onset of their high school freshman year for a relatively brief planning session…then the game begins!
